Ingco Socket Spanner 14mm HHAST12141 1/2″ Drive 6-Point

Our review

This is a single 14mm socket from Ingco, built on a 1/2-inch drive and cut with six points rather than twelve. The black nickel plating is there to resist corrosion, and the steel has been heat treated, which matters on a piece that will see repeated torque. It suits someone filling a gap in a 1/2-inch set, or a mechanic who has lost or worn out the 14mm and wants a direct replacement without buying a whole rail. Before ordering, confirm your ratchet or bar is 1/2-inch drive, since a 14mm head in 3/8-inch drive will not fit the same tools. Six-point sockets grip flat fasteners more securely than twelve-point ones, so this is the better pick for rusted or tight nuts, while a twelve-point version is easier to seat on a bolt in an awkward spot. Compare plating and point count against other sockets you own, and check whether you need a deep or standard depth for the job at hand. Available on Sokonia.
