Tronic 360 Degrees Indoor Recessed Motion Sensor
TSh 40,000
Our review
This Tronic sensor is a ceiling-mounted unit that switches lights on when it detects movement, using infrared sensing rather than sound or vibration. Because it is recessed, it sits flush with the ceiling, which suits garages, corridors, stairways and halls where a surface-mounted box would look out of place. The built-in photocell is the detail worth understanding: it lets you decide whether the connected lights respond to motion only after dark or at any hour, which matters in a corridor that gets daylight or a garage you use during the day. Before buying, check the ceiling depth and cut-out your installation allows, confirm the load your lighting circuit draws, and think about the detection pattern you need, since a 360-degree sensor is generally chosen for rooms where people approach from several directions. Compared with a simple on-off sensor, the photocell control gives you more say over when the lights actually come on. Available on Sokonia.
