Tronic Square B22 Pin LED 5W Bulb

Our review

This is a 5-watt LED bulb from Tronic with a square housing and a B22 pin base, the push-in fitting common in many Tanzanian homes. Because it draws so little power, it suits spots where a light stays on for hours, such as a living room, corridor, shop counter or security light, where the running cost matters more than the initial outlay. Tronic rates it to last far longer than incandescent bulbs and several times longer than fluorescent ones, so it also reduces how often you replace it. Before buying, confirm your fixture takes a B22 pin base rather than a screw fitting, and think about whether 5 watts gives enough brightness for the room, since low-wattage LEDs are dimmer than the bulbs they replace. Compare with other B22 LEDs on brightness, base type and lifespan claims. Available on Sokonia.
