Tronic Modern Black LED Wall Light — Indoor/Outdoor Sconce

Our review

This Tronic wall light is a black LED sconce designed to sit on a wall and glow rather than spotlight. Its light comes from the top, the bottom and three top sides, so when it is switched on the wall behind it catches a soft halo instead of a single hard beam. That makes it a good fit for anyone who wants gentle background light along a corridor, staircase, patio wall or entrance, and for buyers who prefer a dark, modern fixture that disappears into the wall by day. Because Tronic lists it for both indoor and outdoor use, it can suit a covered veranda as well as a living area, but the listing gives no IP rating, so check with the seller on Sokonia how exposed a spot it can take before mounting it where rain hits directly. There are also no dimensions, wattage or colour temperature in the specifications, so confirm the size against your wall space and the light colour you want. Compared with plain bulkhead lights, this one is more decorative; compared with spotlights, it is softer and less directional. Decide whether you want ambience or task lighting, and whether the fixture will be wired to a switch or a sensor, since none of that is stated here.
