Tronic ABS Consumer Unit 4 Way Complete with 100A Isolator

Our review

This Tronic consumer unit is the enclosure that sits at the centre of a home's electrical installation, holding the mains switch, residual current devices and circuit breakers that feed each circuit. The four way format suits smaller installations such as a flat, a starter home or a single-phase supply where only a handful of circuits need protecting. It arrives as a complete unit and includes one 100A double pole Tronic isolator, so the main switch side of the job is covered from the outset. Before buying, confirm how many circuits you actually need to feed and whether four ways leaves room for future additions, since a consumer unit is difficult to expand later. Also check that the isolator rating matches your supply and that your electrician is happy working with the ABS enclosure. Compare it with metal-clad alternatives if the unit will sit in a garage or exposed position, and with larger way counts if your installation is more complex. A qualified electrician should install and certify it.
