Ingco 180A IGBT Inverter MMA Welding Machine ING-MMA1805

Our review
This is a stick (MMA) welder built around IGBT inverter technology, which is the reason it can be relatively light and still put out a steady arc. It runs on 220-240V mains at 50/60Hz, delivers 10-180A of output current, and is rated 180A at a 40% duty cycle, so it is happiest on shorter welding runs with time to cool between them. The 85V no-load voltage helps with arc starting, and it accepts electrodes from 1.6mm up to 4.0mm, which covers common rods for light fabrication, gates, grills, repairs and farm work. The box includes an electrode holder with cable and an earth clamp, so you are not hunting for those separately. Before buying, think about your power supply and the thickness of steel you actually weld: 4.0mm electrodes on a 40% duty cycle at full current will not suit long, continuous production work. Compare it with transformer-based stick welders of similar output, which are usually heavier and draw more current, and with higher-duty inverter models if you weld for hours at a time.
