Tronic Aluminum Diecast LED Flood Light, 150W Daylight

Our review

This is a 150-watt LED flood light from Tronic, built around a die-cast aluminum body that helps pull heat away from the LEDs. Tronic rates the output at up to 10,000 lumens, and the light is described as daylight, so expect a cool white tone rather than a warm yellow one. The main draw is efficiency: it is said to use more than 80 percent less power than the conventional outdoor halogen lamps people often replace, which matters if the fixture runs for long hours every night. It suits someone lighting a compound wall, gate, yard, driveway or small commercial area where a broad, bright wash of light is wanted and running costs are a concern. Before buying, think about how much light the space actually needs, since 10,000 lumens is a lot for a small courtyard and can glare into neighbouring property. Check the mounting position and whether the fitting can be aimed where you want it, and confirm the voltage and wiring your installation uses. Compare it with other LED floods by looking at wattage, lumen output, colour temperature and housing material; aluminum bodies generally handle heat better than plastic ones. Halogen equivalents would draw far more power for similar brightness, while lower-wattage LED units may be gentler on small spaces. Available on Sokonia.
