Our review
This is Sony's NP-FV70, a V Series InfoLITHIUM pack rated at 14Wh with a mean output of 6.8V, sold in Sony branded retail packaging. It suits Handycam owners who want a genuine spare or replacement rather than a third-party cell, particularly anyone filming longer events where one battery will not last a full session. Before buying, confirm your camcorder accepts V Series batteries, since Sony has used several incompatible mounts over the years, and check whether your existing charger fits. If recharge time matters, Sony notes the optional AC-VQV10 quick charger can charge it faster than a standard unit. Compared with lower-capacity V Series packs, this one trades a little extra bulk for more runtime; compared with generic equivalents, you are paying for Sony's cell management and InfoLITHIUM reporting, which gives more accurate remaining-time readouts on compatible cameras.
