Tronic In-Desk Socket 2G Universal with USB and RJ45 Data

Our review
This is a twin in-desk socket from Tronic, built into a soft-edged polished stainless steel plate with a cover that keeps dust and impurities out of the openings. Alongside the two universal power outlets it carries a USB port and an RJ45 data port, so a single cutout in a desk or floor can serve power and a wired network connection together. It suits anyone tidying cables in a home office, reception counter, meeting table or shop till point, particularly where a laptop needs both charging and Ethernet. Before buying, measure your cutout and confirm the plate covers it, and check that your devices match the universal outlet shape and the data port you need. Compare it with plain desk grommets, which pass cables but add no sockets, and with single-port floor boxes that cost less but leave you short of outlets. The stainless finish and hinged cover are the main points of difference from basic plastic alternatives.
