Tronic Desk Lamp with Digital Alarm Clock and Flexible Arm

Our review

This is a desk lamp that doubles as a bedside clock. The head sits on a flexible arm, so you can bend the light down onto a book, keyboard or work surface instead of being stuck with one fixed angle. The built-in digital clock and alarm make it a reasonable pick for a bedside table, a dorm room or a small home office where you would rather not have a separate clock taking up space. Two things are worth thinking about before you commit. First, the light is dimmable and can shift between daylight and warm white, so decide which you need most: cooler light for focused work, warmer for winding down. Second, no specifications are listed here, so check the arm length, base size and how the clock is powered on the Sokonia listing itself. Compared with a plain LED desk lamp, you are paying for the clock and alarm built in; compared with a dedicated bedside clock, you get usable task lighting. If you want one object to do both jobs, this is the trade-off to weigh.
