Our review
These are Sony's XS-FB693E coaxial full-range speakers, sized 16 by 24 centimetres, the familiar 6x9 shape that fits many rear decks and parcel shelves. Each unit combines a Mica matrix cone woofer, which Sony tunes for deep bass, with a super tweeter to extend high frequencies, and the pair is rated at 50 W nominal with 420 W peak handling. They are pitched at drivers running Sony head units with Mega Bass circuitry, though any amplifier within the rated power will drive them. Before buying, measure your existing cutouts and mounting depth, and check what your head unit or amp actually delivers per channel, since peak figures say little about real output. Compared with basic factory replacements, the three-way layout and higher power handling suit listeners wanting stronger low-end without adding a subwoofer. Available on Sokonia.
