This Tronic unit is a contactor-based automatic transfer switch rated at 63A, built around a microprocessor controller that watches the incoming mains supply. When it detects a loss of power, overvoltage or undervoltage, the controller acts to move the load over to your backup source, then returns it when mains conditions are normal again. It suits homes, shops, offices or small workshops running a generator or inverter alongside the grid and wanting the changeover handled without someone standing at a manual switch.
Before buying, confirm the 63A rating covers your total load and that your backup supply and generator are compatible with automatic starting. Check how the unit is mounted and wired, and whether your installation needs a separate changeover enclosure or generator start signal. Compare it with manual changeover switches, which cost less but need an operator, and with ATS units that include built-in generator exercisers or remote monitoring.
