Tronic RJ45 Connector for Ethernet Cabling
TSh 500
Our review
The Tronic RJ45 connector is the plug found at each end of an Ethernet cable, the standard way to link computers and other devices to a wired network. It is the familiar rectangular clip-style plug, and it is wider than the smaller six-position RJ11 connector used on telephone wiring, so the two are not interchangeable even though they look related.
This connector suits anyone terminating or repairing a network cable: a technician crimping a custom-length run, or someone replacing a broken plug on an existing lead. Before buying, confirm you need RJ45 rather than RJ11, check that your cable is the right type to accept the plug, and make sure you have the correct crimping tool, since a poor crimp is the usual cause of a failed connection.
Compare it with pre-made Ethernet cables if you only need one short lead, and with shielded connector options if interference is a concern. Available on Sokonia.
