Before buying, think about counter space, since a combined unit is taller than a standalone machine, and about whether you want the hands-on routine of a manual machine or the convenience of a bean-to-cup automatic. Compare it with machines that have a pressurised basket, which are more forgiving with supermarket coffee, and with setups where the grinder is bought separately, which usually gives you more upgrade flexibility later.
