Tronic Stainless Steel Pop-Up Floor Socket with 13A Socket and RJ45

Our review

This is a pop-up floor socket from Tronic, built around a stainless steel access plate. When closed it sits flush with the floor; when raised it exposes a 13A BS socket and an RJ45 data port, so one fitting can serve both mains power and a wired network connection. That combination makes it most useful in offices, meeting rooms, reception areas, training spaces and similar commercial or professional settings where desks are not fixed and cables would otherwise run across the floor. It is less relevant for a typical home living room unless you specifically want floor-level power and data. Before buying, confirm the floor construction and cut-out you are working with, since an access floor socket has to be installed into a cavity rather than surface-mounted, and check that a 13A BS outlet matches the plugs you actually use. Compare it with plain floor boxes that offer power only, and with surface-mounted trunking, which is easier to retrofit but far more visible. If you need data as well as power at the same point, the dual provision here is the main reason to choose it. Available on Sokonia.
