The built-in sensor is the real difference: it can automate the bulb based on ambient light or motion, which suits corridors, stairwells, gate lights, store rooms and outdoor spots where a switch is awkward to reach. Before buying, confirm your fitting is B22 and not the smaller E27 screw type, and think about where the sensor sits, since it needs a clear view of the area it monitors. Compared with a plain LED bulb, you trade a little simplicity for hands-free operation, so it is worth it only where that automation genuinely helps.
