Tronic Rectangular Up & Down Wall Light, 4W RGB

Our review

This Tronic fitting is a rectangular wall light that throws light both upward and downward, and its diffuser shades are tinted red, green and blue. Because the shades soften the output rather than letting the LEDs hit you directly, the effect is a wash of colour on the wall above and below the fixture instead of a harsh point of light. That makes it a reasonable pick for a porch, gate pillar, corridor or courtyard wall where you want colour and a bit of presence after dark, and for anyone who finds plain white bulkhead lights too clinical. It is less suited to tasks that need bright, even white light, such as reading or working, since the coloured diffusers shape the output. Before buying, check the wall space above and below the mounting point, because up-and-down fittings need clear surface to show the light pattern, and confirm the 4W rating matches the brightness you expect for the area. Compare it with single-direction wall lights, which concentrate light one way, and with white-diffuser versions if you want illumination rather than colour. Also think about how it will be switched, since colour effects usually work best on a separate circuit or smart control. Available on Sokonia.
