Tronic Addressable Audible Alarm Device, 85 dB Sounder

Our review

This is an addressable audible alarm device from Tronic, built to sit on a fire detection loop and sound only when the control and indicating equipment sends it a specific activation message. Because it is loop-powered, it draws what it needs from the same wiring that carries that message, so there is no separate supply to plan for. The 85 dB output at one metre is the headline figure, and long-life LEDs are part of the design. It suits anyone specifying or replacing devices on an existing addressable system where the panel already supports this type. Before buying, confirm your control equipment is compatible and that an audible-only device is what the location needs, since the same range comes in visual and combined audio/visual versions. Compare those variants against your coverage requirements, and check whether the sound level is adequate for the space, remembering that 85 dB is measured at one metre and will be lower further away.
