Tronic Surface Mounted Round GU10 Spotlight in Black, 220-240V

Our review

This Tronic fitting is a single round spotlight designed to sit on the surface of a ceiling or wall rather than recess into it, which makes it a practical choice where there is no cavity to cut into or where you would rather not disturb the surface. It takes a GU10 base lamp and runs on standard mains voltage of 220 to 240V, so it works with the usual household supply in Tanzania. The body is aluminium in black, and the stated dimensions are 100mm high by 80mm wide, so it stays fairly compact on the wall. It suits someone who wants a simple directional light for a corridor, kitchen, balcony or shop display, or who is replacing an old surface-mounted fitting without wanting to redo the wiring. Because the lamp is not included in the details given, plan for a GU10 bulb separately and check the wattage and beam angle you need. Before buying, confirm the surface can take screws, that the 80mm width fits your space, and whether you want a single spot or a multi-head bar for wider coverage. Compare it with recessed spots, which sit flush but need ceiling depth, and with adjustable versions if you need to aim the light. A one-year warranty is stated. Available on Sokonia.
