Frigidaire FD9006 Nonstick Rice Cooker & Steamer, 0.6L

Our review

This is a small rice cooker and steamer from Frigidaire, sold under model number FD9006. The pot holds 0.6 litres and the heating element runs at 350 watts, so it is built for singles, couples, students in hostels, or anyone cooking a side portion rather than a family meal. One-touch operation keeps things simple, and the steamer function lets you cook rice in the pot while vegetables steam above it at the same time.
Before buying, think about capacity first. Half a litre of uncooked rice suits roughly one or two people, so larger households should look at bigger models. Check whether the inner pot is removable and nonstick-coated for easy washing, and confirm the voltage suits Tanzanian mains. Compare against similar small cookers on wattage, pot material, and whether a steaming tray is included, since those details vary between brands at this size. Available on Sokonia.
