Our review
The Hisense U8K is a 55-inch 4K smart TV built on the brand's ULED platform, using Mini-LED Pro backlighting and Quantum technology, and it runs Google TV. Hisense calls it the MVP of its TV range, and the U8 series has picked up awards, so it sits near the top of the brand's lineup rather than in the budget tier. The pitch is straightforward: strong brightness, colour and detail for HDR material, plus a built-in 50W 2.1.2 multi-channel speaker system with Dolby Atmos, which is unusual at this size because most sets rely on add-on soundbars. That makes it a sensible pick if you watch a lot of films, series and sport in a bright room and would rather not buy separate audio gear. Before buying, check the actual panel refresh rate, HDMI version and gaming features, since none are listed here, and confirm the Google TV apps you use are supported in your region. Compare it against similarly priced Mini-LED sets from other brands, and against OLED if deep blacks matter more to you than peak brightness. Also weigh the built-in audio against a cheaper TV plus a soundbar, and measure your viewing distance for a 55-inch screen. Available on Sokonia.
