Hitachi 450L Double Door Refrigerator with Inverter Control — HRTN7489DFBBKET

Our review

This is a 450-litre double door refrigerator from Hitachi, built around inverter control rather than a conventional compressor. In practical terms that matters in two ways: it is designed to save power, and Hitachi rates its cooling to keep working at ambient temperatures up to 60 degrees Celsius, which is the kind of heat a kitchen in Dar es Salaam or Dodoma can genuinely reach. Dual fan cooling spreads cold air through both compartments, and the Nano Titanium filter is there to help manage odours.
It suits a household that wants one large fridge rather than a fridge plus a separate freezer, and that cares about running cost over the years. The Long Cool Keeper and Dual Sensing Control are aimed at holding temperature when the door is opened often or when power is interrupted, and the stabilizer-free design means you should not need an external voltage stabiliser. Check your kitchen space and door clearance before ordering, since a 450L double door unit needs room to open fully, and confirm the shelf and compartment layout suits how you actually shop. Compare it against similar-capacity inverter fridges on noise, power draw and how quickly they recover after a power cut. Available on Sokonia.
