Ingco 1/2 Socket Spanner Extension Bar 5″ HEB12051

Our review

This is a 5-inch (127mm) extension bar for 1/2-inch drive socket spanners, made by Ingco and listed as model HEB12051. It is the piece you add between a ratchet or breaker bar and a socket when a nut or bolt sits too deep for the socket alone to reach, such as on engine mounts, suspension arms or recessed frame bolts. The 40Cr steel is heat treated and chrome plated, which is the usual construction for hand tools in this class and helps resist rust and wear. It suits home mechanics, workshop technicians and anyone building a 1/2-inch drive set who needs a short extension rather than a long one. Before buying, confirm your ratchet and sockets are 1/2-inch drive, since a 3/8-inch set will not fit, and check the 5-inch length against the depth of the fastener you are trying to reach. Compare with other extensions by drive size, length and material; a longer bar gives more reach but less control in tight spaces, while a wobble or universal extension may be more useful at awkward angles. Ingco is a common budget-friendly brand, so it is worth weighing this against similar bars from other tool makers if you already own a particular brand's set. Available on Sokonia.
