Ingco Circlip Pliers 7″/180mm Straight External HCCP011801

Our review

This is a single-purpose hand tool: a straight, external circlip plier from Ingco, sized at 7 inches or 180mm, with a head diameter of 1.8mm and a body made of carbon steel. External circlip pliers are the ones you reach for when a snap ring sits on the outside of a shaft and has to be spread open to slide off. The straight head keeps the jaws in line with the handles, which helps in open, straight-on spots such as gearbox shafts, wheel hubs, and small motor assemblies. It suits a home mechanic, a workshop apprentice, or anyone doing occasional bearing and shaft work rather than daily production use. Before buying, check the ring you need to remove: external pliers will not work on internal circlips fitted inside a bore, and the jaw tips must be slim enough to enter the ring's lug holes without bending. The 1.8mm head is worth measuring against your ring size, since too large a tip will not seat. Compare against bent-nose or 90-degree circlip pliers if your access is awkward, and against heavier industrial brands if you expect constant use. The PP hanger keeps it tidy on a pegboard. Available on Sokonia.
