Ingco Double Open End Spanner 20x22mm HDSPA20221

Our review

This is a double open end spanner from Ingco, sized 20mm at one end and 22mm at the other, with the model number HDSPA20221. It is made from Cr-V, or chrome vanadium steel, and finished with chrome plating in a matt style, supplied packed by label. Because both ends are open rather than one being a ring, it works best where you can approach a nut or bolt from the side, such as on plumbing fittings, vehicle suspension and brake hardware, or machinery where a box end will not fit over the fastener. The two sizes on one tool suit anyone building a compact kit, since it covers two common metric heads without carrying two separate spanners. Before buying, check that 20mm and 22mm are genuinely the sizes your job needs, because a spanner that is slightly too large will round the corners of a tight nut. Also confirm the length and thickness suit the space you are working in, and whether you would rather have a combination spanner with a ring end for higher torque. Compare against other Cr-V spanners in the same sizes, and against cheaper carbon steel options, keeping in mind that chrome vanadium is generally the more durable choice for regular use.
