Ingco Iron Padlock 63mm with Brass Cylinder and 3 Keys

Our review
This is a 63mm iron padlock from Ingco, sold as the DIPL0601 and supplied with three iron keys. The body is iron and the lock cylinder is brass, which is the part that matters most for smooth turning and resistance to seizing in damp conditions. A waterproof rubber cover sits over the keyway to keep rain and dust out, and the whole thing weighs 508g, so it is a fairly substantial lock rather than a light luggage padlock. It suits gates, storefront shutters, warehouses, tool sheds and compound doors where a mid-to-large shackle lock is expected. Before buying, measure the hasp or chain link you intend to lock and confirm the 63mm body and shackle will actually pass through it; a lock that is too thick for the fitting is a common and avoidable mistake. Also think about how many people need access, since three keys are included but copies of a brass-cylinder lock should be cut by a proper key cutter. Compared with cheaper padlocks that use a zinc or pot-metal cylinder, the brass cylinder here is the main reason to pick this one, while laminated steel locks in the same size class generally offer more cut resistance at a higher weight. Check the keyway cover is seated properly and keep a spare key somewhere separate from the main bunch.
