Kenwood HGM31.000SI Contact Grill, 2000W, 3 Grill Positions

Our review

This Kenwood grill is a three-in-one cooking surface rather than a single-purpose press. In contact mode the top plate sits on the food for quick searing; flipped into oven or open grill position it behaves more like a small tabletop grill, which is the setting most people will use for vegetables, skewers or a batch of sandwiches. The 2000W element and adjustable temperature give you some control over how hard it cooks, and the cool-touch handle matters when you are turning food or lifting the lid mid-cook. Detachable plates make cleanup far less tedious than fixed-plate grills, though you should confirm how they release before committing. It suits campers, beach-goers and small households short on hob space. Compare it against a flat electric griddle if you mostly cook eggs and pancakes, and against a larger open grill if you regularly cook for four or more. Check the plate coating and cord length for your setup, since neither is stated here.
