Our review
The Kenwood RCM71.SS is a combined rice cooker and steamer built around a 2.5 litre bowl, which Kenwood says is enough for up to 12 cups of rice. That puts it in the larger end of household rice cookers, so it makes most sense for big families, shared houses or anyone who cooks rice in bulk and wants leftovers. The keep warm function is the feature to think about if people in your home eat at different times, since it holds rice at serving temperature after cooking rather than letting it cool. The pot is Teflon coated and removable, and the lid is glass, so you can watch progress without lifting it. A steam basket is included, which lets you cook vegetables above the rice at the same time. Before buying, compare bowl sizes carefully: 2.5 litres is generous, and a smaller model may suit one or two people better. Also weigh up simple keep warm cookers against fuzzy logic or induction models, which cost more but adjust cooking automatically. Check the pot coating and whether replacement inner pots are easy to find, since that is often what decides how long a cooker lasts. Available on Sokonia.
