Nadstar 16-Piece Porcelain Dinner Set with Mugs for 4

Our review

This Nadstar set covers the basics for four people: four dinner plates, four soup plates, four smaller bowls and four 15oz mugs, sixteen pieces in total. The plates are listed at 10.5 inches, the larger bowls at 8.5 inches and 38oz, and the smaller bowls at 6 inches and 26oz, so there is a clear size step between the two bowl types. The material is given as ceramic, and the set is described as oven-to-table, microwave safe and dishwasher safe, which matters if you want dishes that move from reheating to the table without extra handling. At 9.07 kg for the full set, expect a fairly solid feel rather than thin, lightweight ware. It suits a household of four, a couple who regularly host, or anyone replacing mismatched plates and bowls in one go. Before buying, check your cupboard space, since sixteen pieces take up room, and confirm the plate and bowl diameters fit your shelves and your usual portion sizes. Compare it with other 16-piece sets by counting what is actually included: some put more plates and fewer bowls, while this one splits the pieces evenly across four types. If you mainly need dinner plates, a set weighted that way may serve you better. Also weigh up ceramic against stoneware or melamine if you need something lighter or more forgiving with children. The set is available on Sokonia.
