Nikai NWD2808RS 3-Tap Water Dispenser with Refrigerator

Our review

This is a top-load dispenser from Nikai that pours three ways: hot, cold and normal, so one unit can cover tea and coffee as well as drinking water. The cold side uses compressor cooling with R134A refrigerant rather than a thermoelectric plate, which is the type to look for if you want water that stays properly chilled in warm rooms. A small refrigerator is built in, handy for keeping a few bottles or snacks nearby, and the anti-bacterial design plus anti-spill taps are worth noting in a house with children. It suits families, offices and shops that go through several litres a day and want hot water without a kettle. Before buying, check the bottle size your supplier uses, where the unit will sit relative to a power socket, and how much counter or floor space you can spare, since compressor models are heavier and noisier than cheaper alternatives. Compare it with thermoelectric dispensers if you only need cool water, and with models without a fridge if space is tight.
