Our review
The Sony HT-S40R is a complete 5.1-channel home cinema audio set built around a 600W amplifier, pairing a soundbar with a separate subwoofer and wireless rear speakers. That rear channel is the point of difference: most soundbars at this level simulate surround from a single bar, while this one places actual speakers behind your seating position, which matters if you watch a lot of films and want effects that move around the room rather than staying up front. It suits a living room where running cables to the back is awkward, since the rear speakers connect wirelessly. Setup is described as straightforward thanks to colour-coded connections, so it is manageable without an installer. Before buying, check that your TV's connections and your room layout will let you place the rears properly, and compare against a plain two or three-channel bar if music is your priority rather than movies. It is available on Sokonia.
