This is a two-gang, two-way switch from Tronic, finished in black. In plain terms, it gives you two separate switches on one plate, and each of those circuits can be controlled from a second switch elsewhere. That makes it a natural fit for a hallway, staircase or landing where you want to turn a light on at the bottom and off at the top, or for a room with two entry points. The black finish suits darker sockets, modern interiors and commercial spaces where a white plate would stand out.
Before buying, confirm your wiring supports two-way switching, since a two-way circuit needs the right cable run between the two switch positions. Also check the wall box size and the mounting centres of your existing plate, as these vary between ranges. If you only need one switch per plate, a one-gang version is simpler and cheaper.
