Tronic 3HP DOL Starter with OFF Switch and Emergency ON Button

Our review

This Tronic unit is a direct-on-line starter, the simplest and most common way to get an induction motor running from a standing start. It is built around a 3HP rating, which puts it in the range of small workshop motors, pumps, compressors and similar single-motor jobs where you want a straightforward start rather than a soft or reduced-current method. The integrated OFF switch and emergency ON push button are the two controls you will actually touch, so the layout matters more than it sounds.
Before buying, confirm your motor's full-load current and supply voltage, because a starter has to match the motor it protects, not just its horsepower figure. Check whether your installation needs overload protection, a contactor of a particular size, or an enclosure suited to dust and damp. Compare this with a manual motor starter or a soft starter: DOL is cheaper and simpler but draws a heavy inrush current, so it suits smaller motors on supplies that can take the surge. Also compare with other DOL units on Sokonia by coil voltage and build quality, since those details decide whether it fits your panel. It is available on Sokonia.
