Tronic 5ft Glass Warm White LED Tube

Our review

This is a five-foot glass tube light from Tronic that puts LED lighting inside the familiar fluorescent tube shape. Because it follows the T8 format, it is the kind of fitting many people already recognise from ceiling fixtures in homes, shops and workspaces. The warm white colour temperature gives a softer, less clinical glow than cooler tubes, which tends to suit living areas, corridors and rooms where you want light that feels easy on the eye rather than stark. It is a reasonable pick if you are replacing an old fluorescent tube and want the lower running costs that come with LED, or if you simply prefer a warmer tone in a long linear fitting. Before buying, check the length and the fitting type of your existing fixture, since tube lights come in several sizes and wattages, and confirm the colour temperature matches the mood you want. It is also worth comparing against cooler white tubes if the space needs bright task lighting, and against integrated LED batten fittings if you would rather replace the whole fixture than just the tube.
