Tronic Automatic Transfer Switch 630A

Our review

The Tronic Automatic Transfer Switch 630A is a mains-to-backup changeover unit built around a microprocessor controller. That controller watches the incoming supply and reacts to three conditions named in the product description: a power outage, an overvoltage phase, or an undervoltage phase. When one of those occurs, the switch is designed to move the load over automatically, so the transfer does not depend on someone being on site to throw a breaker by hand.
This kind of switch suits anyone running a standby supply that needs to take over without a manual step, such as a generator-backed installation or a site where the main supply is unreliable. The 630A rating puts it in the larger end of the range, so it is aimed at substantial loads rather than a single circuit.
Before buying, confirm that the rating matches the capacity of the installation and that the controller's sensing arrangement fits how your supply is wired. Ask the seller on Sokonia for the full technical documentation, since no specifications are listed here. Compare it with other ATS units on sensing behaviour, transfer type, and how the controller is configured, because those differences matter more than the headline amperage.
