Tronic Black Garden Bollard Outdoor Gate Lantern with Clear Glass

Our review

This is a black outdoor gate lantern from Tronic, described as a garden bollard and fitted with clear glass. The listing presents it as sturdy, dependable and waterproof, which points to a fixture meant for permanent outdoor mounting rather than a temporary or decorative indoor piece. It should suit a homeowner lighting a gate, driveway edge or garden path where the fitting is exposed to rain and needs to keep working season after season. Clear glass means the light output is not softened or coloured by the enclosure, so the lamp you choose will largely determine the look. Before buying, check the mounting base and height suit your wall or post, confirm the lamp type and wattage the holder accepts, and make sure the finish matches your other outdoor fittings. Compare it with similar bollards and gate lanterns on build material, glass type and how well sealed the enclosure is, since those decide how it copes with Tanzanian rain and dust.
