Because it draws so little power, it suits accent or decorative fittings where you want a coloured glow rather than bright white task lighting, such as a small lamp, a feature corner, or a night-time marker. Before buying, confirm your fixture takes an E27 screw cap and that blue light is what you actually want, since a 2W bulb will not light a room. Compared with incandescent and fluorescent options, LEDs like this use at least 75% less energy and last considerably longer, which reduces both running and replacement costs over time. Check the fitting and colour first, then decide.
