Tronic Candle LED Bulb 7W Daylight E27 Screw

Our review

This is a candle-shaped LED bulb from Tronic, rated at 7 watts and finished in daylight, with the standard E27 screw base found on most household fittings. The candle profile is the one to look for in fixtures where a round bulb looks bulky or won't fit: chandeliers, wall sconces, small bedside lamps and decorative holders. Because it is LED rather than halogen or incandescent, it runs cooler and draws far less power for the light it gives, which matters if the fitting stays on for long evenings.
Tronic describes the build as using mercury-free, fire-retardant materials, with no infrared or harmful ultraviolet output, and the light is softened so it is easier on the eyes. That makes it a reasonable pick for rooms where you sit close to the lamp, and for shades or fabric that you would rather not have fading under UV.
Before ordering, check two things on your existing fitting: that the socket is a screw type (E27) and not a bayonet, and that the shade or holder has room for a candle-shaped body. Daylight white is a cooler, crisper tone than warm white, so if you want a cosy yellow glow in a living room or bedroom, a warm white bulb of the same shape may suit you better; daylight tends to work well in kitchens, bathrooms, hallways and task areas. Also compare wattage and brightness against the bulb you are replacing, since a 7W LED is not equivalent to a 7W incandescent. Available on Sokonia.
