Tronic Cylindrical Up & Down Wall Light, Matte Black Aluminum

Our review

This is a cylindrical up-and-down wall light from Tronic, finished in matte black aluminum with a glass shade. The two-directional design throws light upward and downward at once, which is why it tends to work well beside entrance doors, along exterior corridors, or on either side of a garage, where a single pool of light would leave the wall above and below dark. The aluminum body is described as corrosion and rust resistant, so it is a reasonable candidate for coastal or humid locations where cheaper metal fittings degrade quickly. The matte black finish and glass shade sit between classic and modern styles, so it should not look out of place on either a rendered modern wall or a more traditional facade. Before buying, check the width of the wall space you have, since a cylindrical fitting reads larger on a narrow pillar than it does in photos, and confirm the mounting height suits the spread of light you want. Compare it with plain single-direction bulkhead lights if you only need downward illumination, and with plastic-bodied alternatives if budget matters more than long-term weather resistance.
