Tronic 13A Twin Floor Switch Socket in Polished Stainless Steel
TSh 86,500
Our review
This is a twin 13A floor socket from Tronic, built into a cover that sits flush with the floor. The housing is polished stainless steel with softened edges and a seamless top surface, and a lid closes over the outlets to keep dust and other contaminants out when nothing is plugged in. It suits anyone who needs power at a fixed point in the middle of a room rather than along a wall: living rooms with sofas away from the wall, offices, reception areas, or anywhere cables would otherwise trail across the floor. Before buying, confirm the depth and cutout your floor can take, since a floor box has to sit below the finished surface, and check that your wiring and circuit can carry two 13A outlets. Compare it with standard wall sockets, which are cheaper and simpler to fit, and with plastic floor boxes, which cost less but show wear sooner. Stainless steel holds up better in busy spots but needs cleaning to keep its finish. Think about whether you want a lid that closes flat, and whether the socket positions suit how furniture will sit. If your floor is tile, timber or screed, the fixing method matters as much as the socket itself. Available on Sokonia.
