Tronic Gold 1 Gang 2 Way Switch, 16A 220-240V, 90x90mm Bakelite

Our review

This is a single-gang, two-way wall switch from Tronic, finished in gold and built around a bakelite body measuring 90mm by 90mm. The two-way design means it works at the end of a circuit where a light is controlled from two positions, such as a hallway, staircase or bedroom with switches at both doors. It is rated at 16 amps and 220 to 240 volts AC, so it suits typical Tanzanian mains wiring and can carry heavier loads than a basic 10A switch, including larger lighting circuits. The smooth edges are intended to sit neatly in modern interiors, and the gold face stands out against plain white plates. Before buying, confirm your wall box size and fixing centres match the 90mm square format, and check whether your wiring is two-way or one-way, since a two-way switch can be used for one-way control but not the reverse. Compare against white plastic switches if you want a quieter look, and against metal-faced plates if you need extra durability. A one-year warranty applies. Available on Sokonia.
