Tronic Insect Killer Waterproof 4 Watts

Our review

This Tronic unit is a contact-based flying insect killer: insects that touch the electrified element are destroyed, and the body is made from fireproof ABS, which the maker describes as odourless, non-toxic and safe around people. The waterproof claim and 4-watt rating are the two details worth weighing, since they hint at where it can be placed and how much power it draws. It suits someone who wants a chemical-free way to deal with mosquitoes and similar insects in a room, kitchen or covered outdoor spot, rather than someone expecting a repellent or a trap that lures insects from a distance. Before buying, check the plug type and voltage used in your area, the surface area the unit can realistically cover, and whether the waterproofing covers full outdoor exposure or only splashes. Compare it with larger electric zappers if you need to cover a big open space, and with plug-in repellent devices if you would rather keep insects away than kill them on contact. Cleaning and bulb or element replacement are also worth asking about, because those affect long-term use. Available on Sokonia.
