Tronic Kinetic Switch 1 Gang
TSh 91,500
Our review
This Tronic switch is a one-gang wall switch that does not need a battery or mains wiring to send its command. Pressing the switch drives a small kinetic generator inside, and the resulting signal tells a receiver to switch a lamp on or off. That makes it interesting for anyone who wants a control point where running cable is awkward, or who would rather not keep replacing batteries in a remote switch.
Before buying, confirm you have the matching receiver, since the switch itself only sends the signal and does not switch the load directly. Also check that one gang is enough for the circuit you have in mind, and think about where the receiver will sit relative to the lamp. Compared with a conventional wired switch, you trade direct wiring for placement freedom; compared with a battery remote, you trade battery changes for a press that powers itself.
