Tronic Metal Halide E27 Bulb, 150W
TSh 13,500
Our review
This Tronic bulb is a 150-watt metal halide lamp with an E27 base, the screw fitting used on many outdoor fixtures. Inside, metals and gases react to produce the orange-white light associated with street lighting and security lights, and the output is high enough for those jobs. It suits someone replacing a lamp in an existing metal halide fitting, or lighting a yard, driveway or perimeter where strong illumination matters. Before buying, confirm your fixture takes an E27 base and is rated for 150 watts, and check whether it uses a ballast, since metal halide lamps are not simple plug-in replacements for LED or incandescent bulbs. Compared with LED alternatives, these lamps run hotter and use more power, but they remain common where the fitting already exists. If you are starting fresh, weigh running cost and warm-up behaviour against LED options; if you are maintaining what you have, match the wattage and base exactly. Available on Sokonia.
