Tronic Metal Halide E40 Bulb 2000W
TSh 125,000
Our review
This Tronic bulb is a 2000-watt metal halide lamp with an E40 base, the large screw fitting common on high-output outdoor fixtures. It is built for the kind of lighting that has to cover a wide area from a height, such as street lighting and security lights, where the orange-white glow comes from metals and gases reacting inside the glass tube. It suits anyone maintaining or upgrading an existing high-wattage fitting rather than someone lighting a small yard. Before buying, confirm your fixture accepts an E40 base and is rated for 2000 watts, since the ballast and wiring must match. Compare with LED alternatives on running cost and warm-up behaviour, and with other metal halide bulbs on colour appearance and lamp life.
