This Tronic bulb is an LED take on the classic Edison filament lamp, built in the oblong ST64 shape with a visible squirrel cage filament that gives off a warm, retro look. At 8 watts with a standard E27 screw base, it is aimed at anyone dressing a pendant, bar fitting or exposed-bulb fixture where the filament itself is part of the design. Before buying, check that your fitting takes an E27 screw cap and that the oblong glass will physically clear any shade or cage, since ST64 bulbs are longer than ordinary round ones. It suits decorative and ambient lighting rather than task lighting. Compared with plain opal LED bulbs, you trade a softer, more even spread for visible character; compared with vintage incandescent Edison bulbs, you get the same look without the short life and heat.
