Tronic Retro Cage Wall Light

Our review

The Tronic Retro Cage Wall Light is an accent fixture built around a caged, retro-style shade. It is aimed at buyers who want a decorative light rather than a room's main source of illumination, and it suits renters or homeowners who want to add character to one section of a space without rewiring a whole room. Tronic says it can be mounted or plugged in, which gives some flexibility in where it goes, and the brand lists the workplace, study, living room, bedroom, entryway and hallway as suitable spots. Before buying, check how you intend to power it, since the choice between mounting and plugging in affects where it can sit and whether a socket is within reach. Also think about the surface you will fix it to and the look of the cage against your existing decor. Compared with plain wall sconces or flush ceiling lights, a caged accent light is more of a statement piece, so it tends to work best in ones or twos rather than throughout a room. If you want even, bright light for tasks, a different fixture will serve you better. It is available on Sokonia.
