Tronic Twin Red Standard Socket, 13A Double

Our review

This is a twin socket from Tronic, finished in red with a glossy surface and tidy edges, so it is meant to sit visibly on a wall rather than disappear into it. The red colour suits rooms or workspaces where you want the outlet to match a scheme or stand out deliberately. The key figure to understand is the rating: each side is rated 13A, but the description states that when both outlets are used at the same time the socket can support a load of up to 20A. That shared limit matters if you plan to run two high-draw appliances together, such as a heater and a kettle, because the combined current is what the socket sees, not each plug on its own. Before buying, check the wiring and circuit in your home can carry that load, and confirm the box depth and fixing centres match your existing wall box, since no dimensions are given here. Compared with a plain white twin socket, you are choosing this one mainly for the red finish; if colour is irrelevant, a standard white unit does the same job. Available on Sokonia.
