Westpoint WRHN-3018.ES 257L Double Door Fridge with Top Freezer

Our review

This Westpoint model is a two-door refrigerator with the freezer compartment on top, listed at 257 litres gross and 252 litres net. The split is 199 litres for the fridge section and 53 litres for the freezer, which puts it in the range that suits a small household, a couple, or someone who wants a second unit for drinks and overflow rather than a full family shop. The stated running figure is 0.84kWh per 24 hours at 130W, so it is worth comparing that number against other fridges of similar size if electricity running cost matters to you. It uses R600a refrigerant at 41g and runs on 220 to 240 volts at 50Hz, matching typical Tanzanian mains supply. The unit is defrost rather than frost-free, so you will need to plan for manual defrosting of the freezer now and then. At 44kg net and 1660mm tall by 550mm wide, measure your doorway, kitchen gap and the clearance behind for ventilation before ordering. Compare against frost-free models if you would rather not defrost, and against larger capacities if 53 litres of freezer space looks tight for your cooking habits. Available on Sokonia.
