Tronic 16mm 4 Core Flexible Cable, 100m

Our review

This is a 16mm four core flexible cable from Tronic, supplied as a 100 metre length. It has PVC insulation and the conductors are described as 99.9% pure copper, and it is manufactured in Tanzania. The combination of a larger cross-sectional area and four cores makes it suited to installations where several conductors need to run together, such as connecting equipment that draws a fair amount of current or feeding a distribution point. Because it is flexible rather than rigid, it is easier to route through bends, trunking and tight spaces. Before buying, confirm the current rating your circuit needs, check that four cores is the right configuration for your setup, and make sure 16mm is the size your electrician has specified. Compare it with other locally made cables on conductor purity, insulation type and whether the length matches your job, since a 100 metre run can leave waste on small projects.
